Colega
Colega

Following the success of the "La Pandilla" course, the same authors have developed "Colega" to use with younger children (aged 7 & above). Split over 4 levels, it contains lively illustrations and stimulating activities using games, songs and a wide range of complementary materials, notably a cuddly toy and a set of graded readers!
Colega follows the recommendations of the British QCA. Colega 1, 2, 3 & 4 fit perfectly with KS2 years 3, 4, 5 & 6. The author, Marisa Hortelano, has extensive experience in teaching children, and has developed Colega by using resources that she has been using in the classroom for years.
The student's book for levels 1, 2 & 3 can no longer be ordered separately and must therefore be ordered as part of a pack. The student's book for level 4 can be ordered separately but only while stocks last. The exercise book for all levels can be ordered separately. The audio CD that accompanies the student's book contains the listening activities and the songs from both books. The teacher's guide is also available in English (levels 1 & 2 only). The "Carpeta de recursos" is a folder containing 48 photocopiable worksheets plus assessment materials.
The Guía didáctica for levels 1 & 3 can be accessed for free here: http://edelsa.es/es/sala-de-profesores/libros-profesor-descarga-gratuita/
What's more, there are plenty of additional teaching resources (including flashcards and suggestions on how to make best use of the "Colega lee" graded readers) that can be accessed for free here: http://www.edelsa.es/saladeprofesores.php
Colega is in fact the name of the cuddly toy dog that accompanies the course (also sold separately). It can be used throughout the year by teachers to introduce the various themes and vocabulary topics presented and to encourage real communication within the classroom. Colega does not speak a word of English so students can only interact with him in Spanish!
The "Colega lee" readers are designed to accompany this course.
