Bukovkiny istorii

"Bukovkiny istorii" (The Letters' Stories) is a new book by Nadezhda Bragina, an author of the bestselling beginner's course "URA!" (42917) and a grammar book "Russian Grammar through Songs" (41001).
The present book includes both a student book and a workbook and is designed for children (4-5 years of age) who have already been introduced to the letters of the Russian alphabet but can't read yet. The book consists of 36 lessons structured according to the difficulty level which increases by the end of the book. Children will learn to differentiate between soft and hard sounds as well as between vowels and consonants. They will also learn to produce syllables out of the learnt sounds and letters and to read - from simple monosyllabic/disyllabic/three-syllable words to short texts specially written for children at this stage. Children will also be introduced to the main punctuation marks - a comma, a period, an exclamation mark, and a question mark.
The book has been successfully tested and is currently used for work with bilingual children in Russian Gymnasium #1 in London.
