Authors: Simona Consolazione Fiorenza Quercioli Giulia Tossani
Students are invited on a discovery of the Italian language and culture in this modern course for adults and adolescents. The clear and simple structure is easy to follow and revolves around the story of three foreign students in Italy, their daily lives and their interactions with native Italians. The course adopts a textual approach which is action-oriented, encouraging students from the outset to actively engage with the language and culture - both within and beyond the classroom - in order to develop communicative competence and intercultural skills that can be applied in a variety of contexts.
The course will cover beginner's level A1 to advanced level C1 of the CEFR. Each level, offering approximately 90 hours of lessons, consists of a single coursebook complete with further exercises intended for study at home; audio tracks and supplementary resources online including interactive exercises; and fun grammar videos, ideal for use with an interactive whiteboard, to diversify lessons and aid understanding. With answers available online, the course is also suitable for self-study.
Topic-based language and structures are introduced gradually and presented in context through a variety of written and audio texts with exercises and additional sections dedicated to further study of vocabulary, grammar and Italian culture. Each unit concludes with a visual mind map of the content covered followed by consolidation of vocabulary and grammar. Revision tests and self-assessment sheets are provided at intervals.
