Covering CEFR levels A1-A2, 'Hora da História' is aimed at children aged 6-10 who can read and write and who are learning Portuguese as a Foreign Language, Non-Native Language, Second Language and Inherited Language. It proposes a communicative and playful approach to learning that accounts for pupils' diverse learning styles and needs as well as the reality of teaching Portuguese to groups of children in different contexts.
In addition to traditional Portuguese tales and songs that are suitable for the target audience's skill level, the manual contains a wealth of authentic texts that are designed to convey intercultural aspects of the language in an entertaining and stimulating manner.
This course comprises the following components:
Student's book with an accompanying audio CD (featuring recordings of texts, dialogues, songs, adapted Portuguese folk tales, exercises, etc.).
Workbook containing varied activities and tasks to reinforce understanding. It also includes a self-assessment section at the end of each unit, so that pupils can monitor their progress.
Teacher's book featuring ideas and suggestions on how best to exploit the content in each unit of the Student's book, plus additional resources such as cards and posters, maps, vocabulary and grammar tests, games, etc.
