DaF in zwei Bänden

DaF in zwei Bänden

With each chapter set in a different Bundesland, "Deutsch als Fremdsprache in zwei Bänden" takes students on a journey around Germany and also Austria and Switzerland enroute to the Goethe Institut's "Zertifikat Deutsch" examinations. Comparison with their native language, culture and home countries is the principle means of encouraging students to express their ideas in German, and numerous exercises including blank-filling and completing tables test students comprehension and allow them to formulate grammar rules themselves before explanations and examples are given. Learning tips and techniques for all the core skills are also included. The course covers all the necessary topics for the Goethe Institut examinations providing cultural information relating to local attractions and regional variations in speech and language including slang and proverbs. The accompanying cassettes/CDs use a full range of regional accents and dialects to accustom students to variations in language they may encounter around Germany. The teachers book gives a breakdown of the lessons and course goals, suggestions for essays on the topics covered, and full transcripts of the cassettes are also included.
