Aimed primarily at teenagers, this book follows a communicative approach that is orientated towards action. It therefore requires active participation from both teachers and learners, favouring non-formal learning activities as well as autonomous, proactive student-centred learning.
It is organised into three parts, as follows:
Part 1: This explores the concepts of oral literature.
Part 2: This comprises 20 recreational reading and creative writing workshops based on 20 Portuguese folk tales. These are graded according to levels A1 or A2 of the CEFR and also the QuaREPE, and are arranged by level of difficulty. They cover predominantly pre-reading, reading and post-reading activities, planning, comprehension and revision.
Part 3: This contains a dictionary that can be developed and completed by learners. It includes contextualised definitions for the required word(s), together with a synonym and an antonym.
