Really enjoyed - Slimani wonderfully captures the realities and mundanities of the everyday lives of a multi-ethnic family, while dealing with the complexities of life for women in Morocco post-WWII as well as the tenstions between French colonial settlers and native Moroccans in the period leading up to and during the war of independence.
