Designed to cover three academic years of study, "Bem-vindo" uses numerous photographs and a wide variety of texts (dialogues, original and adapted texts, magazine and newspaper articles, maps and songs) to introduce topics relevant to young people.

Each chapter is divided into six sub-topics which end with a relatively long text, adapted from an authentic source, which offers an informative overview of the topic under discussion.
