Using a simple and communicative approach, "Hallo, da bin ich!" focuses on language learning through play and provides a gentle introduction to German. The first book introduces a loveable young hare called Rolfi and his friends who present a range of basic themes familiar to young learners such as introducing oneself, visiting friends, and arranging to meet people. The second level of the course continues the story and bright, simple illustrations engage pupils' interest and aid understanding. The accompanying workbook provides a range of task-based activities encouraging pupils to actively use German. Additional exercises appear on worksheets accompanying a set of OHP transparencies retelling the story. An audio version of their adventures together with a selection of songs are available on cassette.
