Arthur is the cartoon kangaroo that gives this course its distinctive name, and with whom younger learners will readily identify. "Kangourou" is first and foremost an activity course, full of games and ideas to animate the class, with the emphasis firmly on speaking and listening. Both the language and the activities presented in "Kangourou" are rooted firmly in the familiar, everyday world of the young child and based on areas of interest, with vocabulary and structures relevant to the child's needs. The course is designed to enable even non-specialist French teachers confidently to give youngsters their first taste of a new language, so that the French lesson can become something to which not only the pupils, but the teacher too will look forward!
