The course consists of a video course on a DVD and a textbook for the lessons of Russian as a foreign language. The video course includes 6 films (each lasts for approximately 10 minutes), and the textbook offers various tasks based on the films. All the films are related: they share the same storyline and the same characters. However, each film is an independent finished product with its outset, culmination, and ending. The texts of the films include the speech patterns which cover the main conversational topics. This allows to use the video as part of any course of Russian as a foreign language to develop language skills.

The main purpose of the course is to to teach foreign students to interpret the live Russian speech in full, to prepare them for watching original feature films in Russian.

It is aimed at foreign students who know Russian at level A2-B1 of the CEFR.
